Automatic event reminders
Submitted by MrWhat on Wed, 09/12/2007 - 09:44.I now have a script to email automatic event reminders for drupal.
I'll post the script in the hopes that search engines list it,
and it may be of use to other drupal admins.
Schedule this to run daily:
#!/usr/bin/perl -w # $Header: /www/www.whovian.us/src/RCS/eventNotify.pl,v 1.2 2007/09/12 21:32:14 $ # # Send out notification of an upcoming event from a drupal events database # ################################################################## # Set these variables as appropriate for your site $dbName="c9999_drwho"; $dbHost="c9999_drwho.localhost";

we got severe rain. around 4" in an hour, 5+" over 7 hours.
We immediately collected our wet stuff and went to the
laundramat. All is ok.
we will be spending today doing more drying out instead
of caving ;-(.
karst drupal
Submitted by MrWhat on Mon, 07/23/2007 - 15:09.The 'Karst Information Prokject' is going to use
drupal to organize collaboration.
That's the package we are using now for Dr. Who.
Sherie and I stayed at camp today.
We may look at some caves tomorrow.
road to NSS 2007
Submitted by MrWhat on Sat, 07/21/2007 - 06:18.We made Joplin, MO last night.
Tricky town. Ask the locals where the hotels are.
They are NOT anywhere near the business loop!
We should make the Marengo, IN campground by dinner.
mailing lists
Submitted by MrWhat on Sat, 07/14/2007 - 06:15.there appear to be modules for drupal to integrate
with mailman mailing lists.
I may try that if people want.
I'm also looking to see if there is a way for members
to send an e-mail to ALL members, so we wouldn't really
need a separate list.
There are also modules where you can mail to drupal
to make posts.
I'm also looking to see if users can get e-mails
whenever somebody posts to a forum.
That would work for mailing lists too...
if everybody asks for mail updates to meetings and viewings forums.
