From BoimWiki
Sorry, lots of abbreviations, and less spell-checking on them. Names were spelled phonetically as best as I could guess at the meeting. I'm not going to stop the meeting for people to spell all names and places. If you can correct them, do so or let me know (aaron)
Edit these as you see fit, if you want to bother getting a Wiki account, or tell Aaron, the Secretary, or newsletter editor of suggested changes.

Convention 2011
No Eth. on tech. Need camping facilities in a non-dry area. Macy center can serve alcohol, but only if we use their alcohol. Sedillo park is a possibility. But it seems to have a no alcohol policy. For special events, they may allow alcohol with special arrangements.
Other parks and facilities are being surveyed as a back-up.
NPS has offered support for bid. NM Tech will co-host. Tanya Piedras, faculty, will sponsor.
Grotto approved $200 for t-shirts advertising 2011 conv. We have an estimate of $7/shirt production, for around 50-200 shirt lot. Screen fee, perhaps $40. 30ish shirts would be nice. 10L 10XL 5M 5S ish might make sense.
Next committee meeting, June 17, Sunday. After GypKaP. 5:30ish PM at Blake's Office.

New Business
Mechanized Trails
Talk about mechanized trails in Las Manzanitas. Might there be cave impact? Known caves:
- Sandia
- Embudo
- Catwalk?
- Others?
- Cooper Ellis on private land, nearby.
What can we do to get a bat-friendly gate on Embudo?
Can they limit some of the dirtier, noisier 2-stroke machines?
It may be good to look an a map, and mention impact of change of use of specific trails, referenced by numbers. Do you know of any sensitive areas. Public input on specific trails, and specific locations are valuable. Comment until May 28?!??
We will try to place a map on WWW site.
Lee Skinner will know about caves in sandias, which may not be well known. Lee also has a list of leads.
Pronouns
Blake: Pronouns. Mike Bilbo is revisiting cave files. Blake has some data. Travertine mining has slowed. Might be good to review new leads and update GPS. Possible gating of What, in response to impact from nearby mine and increased traffic. Could keeping ladders/ropes out of What be sufficient? If it is determined to be significant, there are additional management responsibilities. They are supposed to manage it as significant until determined to be otherwise.
Could Pronouns be a better location for the Sept. regional. Camping is hard. Caves are small. Some love it. Others... not so much. Could also look into southern El Malpais, which is BLM managed.
If another grotto is willing to do Labor day regional, let them. Let region know we are having wrinkles with new mgt. at El Malpais. Just growing pains with change in personnel at the Park Service.
Ojito Mesa
Mike Bilbo knows of caves in Ojito Mesa. South of San Yisidro. {... besides Candle Cave? ... aaron} Blake has some GPS coords.
