Presented science fair prize to Racheal ..... and she gave presentation on mineral ID using commonly available chemicals and tools.

Dan Montoya presented slides on Snowy river. He was on an inventory trip with Victor, Paula, Sam and deb. A large group of VIPs (BLM, Govt. reps, reporters...) went through, and there was a lot of preparation and cleanup for them. Like changing rooms for the VIP's at the end of mud turtle.

Regional plans. Roger talked to ski resort folks about access. Owner, Benny Abrazo, wanted a special use permit from forest. Ray is still trying to get calls returned. Carol Belski wants to know if we can do sandia for regional by wed. If not, we may go to Pronouns. We have permission to camp at/near the resort. We will need a porta-potty. We may also try Balsam Glade are if we can get it.

50th

We have sign-up forms. Sat night 9/20. 21 so far. $40 ea. $15 for t-shirt. Reserve a place, even if you can't pay now so they can make arrangements. Speaker: John Corchran III, on Sandia Grotto and Ft. Stanton.

Aug meeting's program is all about planning for 50th event. That weekend will be regional.

Sharon -- Went with Victor, Paula, Sam, James Tabinskly, Melinda Marsh's first cave in MalPais. March cave. Cave had a stone wall.

Sam -- Many trips into Stanton. VIPs. Resistivity. Support for VIP trip. Next expidition in Oct. Talk to John (Lyles?)

Rose & Ira -- no caving

Aaron & Sherie -- no caving

Kefir -- new student at UNM. Was in s. nevada grotto. working bio-arch in belize now

Dan -- Went 3 times. Shoulder getting better. Ft. Stanton. Sandia. El Malpais sketching of arch cave.

Cliff (& guest) -- went caving in AK. whipperwill cave. worked on designing buridge in another cave. Got married by Dave Taylor in May. Went urban caving. Had a bat flight and cave helmets on statues. (Church had about 15000 big browns.

New guy bicycle - no

Fred -- explored holes near Glorietta mesa.

Kevin -- Sandia photo trip. Pulled some trash.

Ray -- Erin Hudson, Archeologist for Sandia area. Checked data logger. took 1182 photos for "before" of restoration. Did some reviewing of photos at ray's house. about 200 photos were cataloged.
