Restoration Project
ray is in AZ. We are looking at Jan 10 as weekend to start on Sandia Cave project. Not everybody will be in cave sandblasted. They need to be fit-tested on respirators. Other volunteers will do support away from the sandblast area.
Equipment was tested last week at Ray's. Seems to be in working order. A few minor frayed extension cords are being repaired. Trailer is being re-packed. We need to get people signed off to work by forest service.
1910 cfr lists regulations. Sherie would like to see what they need. NSS grant for $1000 was applied for to support project.
Effort should be 2-4 days. Can't leave any gear there. We will need to unpack/pack every day. We might leave some gear up there, semi-packed up, and camp by it to guard it, or leave it at a caver's house nearby.
All going in cave need medical exam and respirator fit-test.

More announcements
Wants more vert. practices. next year.
Would like to try and plan programs a few months in advance.
Would like to have some grotto greeters. People who make sure that new members at meetings know what is going on, and know who to contact about trips/activities. Make sure they get informed.
Discussion was made about how to maintain www site. Take a look at:
http://highdesertbirdclub.org/drupal http://docwho.org/drupal
to see what drupal looks like. Aaron can set up something like this in less than an hour, but we need grotto members to keep it up2date.
Aaron suggests that we keep static content at www.sandiagrotto.org, and point to informational pages at drupal.sandiagrotto.org for more dynamic content, like announcements and calendars.
Ideas:
- move calendar to Google Calendar Sandia Grotto
- move mailing list to http://boim.com/mailman/listinfo
- start a drupal for announcements, contacts
- keep paypal setup at www.sandiagrotto.org if possible, or perhaps just provide form for people to send money to an e-mail address attached to grotto checking / paypal account. Can paypal process charge cards for a fee to a generic paypal account, even for non-e-bay sales?
- move mailing addresses to SonicWhale? Can this be done leaving www... where it is, just move MX to sonicwhale, and perhaps mail.sandiagrotto.org?
