Sarah Berford's Science Fair project
Presentation before meeting today, due to special guest Presenter.
Chemistry Division, Growth of Aragonite Crystals
Experiments on which chemical preparations were best at growing CaCO3 crystals.

- Linda Starr -- Went with Carol Lucero on 9th to Ft. Stanton. Took some novices and experienced cavers to new section. Also on Candalaria (La Marchantia) Ice cave. Jeff Alford, manager, was very pleasant to work with. Even willing to let us camp if we wish. Try for slightly earlier in the spring next year. Ice was past its peak.

Grotto Auction brought in $379.50. We still have some IOU's.

Details on scout trips, bu Duke
Junction, Xenolith, Braided, 4 windows, and Skylight are only caves open to public in El Malpais. Plan was for AM and PM trips. There was snow and thunder. They took shelter in Junction. It is now open past mud sink.

Brochure
A copy should have been e-mailed. A hard copy was circulated at meeting. We got all 8-9 of Ray Keeler's suggestions for contents in the brochure. Alan Blasek bid $175 for 500 copies on a slightly heavier, glossier stock. Perhaps 100# paper. Includes trifold. Will improve graphics.
We will ask Alan for the final pre-production soft copy.
Motion to have Alan do a 500 copy run. Seconded. Approved by show of hands.
White Nose
Please report any sightings of bats with white fungus to Fish and Wildlife service. A brochure on reporting white nose, and how to respond to contact was circulated. All govt. caves in NE are closed. Some in Indianna, GA, AL are also closed.
SWR
Ken, a senior caver, was elected new president. Kathy Peerman vice. Sec. Mike Bilbo. Treas. Patty Daw.
Were reports about several cave trips, GypKap.
Old Bus
NSS convention. Deadline is June 1 for next price increase.
We should try to organize carpools to ICS and to the Chirakawa trip.
Election
We need to elect a new Chair, with the departure of Kevin.
No additional nominations were made.
