- sam bono - ElMaP - were some 16 people. hit some elma16.... week after took carl and his girlfriend to braided with carol, rose, ira and liz. many elk. Pajarito grotto did an artivle about a sulpher cave near steamboat in CO. found worms in this extreme environment. Similar to bottom of ocean vent worms. Article from steamboat springs magazine. we adopted Sandia cave in 04. we need a new manager as sam plans to move. somebody to organize cleaning projects. he is selling his cave book collection. $250 takes all. he has bibliography. also 600-700 millitary history books to sell.

Utah Cave Accident
Nutty Putty Cave UT. Tippinocos grotto was called. perhaps near american fork? He was 26 or 27. 2nd year medical school. one kid. another on way. vertical experience. 11 others on trip. rumor: pushing tight downhill headfirst. it was a permitted cave, so group was likely experienced. john gasper is from that grotto. they may have had several inexperienced visitors getting stuck in that cave in the recent past. It is a fairly popular cave. has had about 5 rescues in the last 15 years.
Winter Tech
This saturday. Had many abstracts. Some presentations were turned down. John McClain's resistivity abstract was not received. He will wait until next year. Cave Radio. Slot cave in Sandias. Caves of Killamanjaro.
Agenda is on WWW site, and sam has a copy. It should have been e-mailed.
register sat, 8:AM. business 9:AM. will discuss 2013 nss bid. papers start 10:15. 15-20 min each.
buffet catered dinner to follow from whole hog. at blake jordan't new office. will be a charge for the dinner, but exact amount not yet known. linda wants a volunteer to organize the dinner. need to check for vegitarian options. perhaps around $10. Grotto is putting in $$ for beer and after party. Dinner should be 6-7:30. Keynote Dewight Deal on caving in China, 7:30. Should have coffee at meeting. perhaps bagels or donuts. tea. still need volunteers to help with food and snacks. Robert will help. Robert and Linda will split chairing the sessions. Robert will help with AM registration.

Aaron proposes $50 budget for AM snacks. Perhaps a donation can to help defray costs. Also need hot water.
Would be good to have name tags, with grotto id too. Sam can get some name tags.
try to collect some door prizes. bring donations. perhaps a $100 door prize budget. keiffer and robert will go shopping. current balance is $3214. we will sponsor things.

girl scout trip
need second event at same time. might want seperate but similar events for central and northern area. northern, Santa Fe, Farmington, Raton? See if Pajarito can help for a northern trip. Will be end of march, early april. These will be 16 year old ish girls. Girls will be from Magdelena up to N state line, and all the way to the east. Could look for cavers near Durango for caves in north, perhaps.

Ira and Rose might host. Nate will check with them, since they are not here. They are by Mountain Run Shopping Center, Dec 12, sat. Scott could host too. as backup. Ira and Rose seemed willing at last braided trip. pot luck? host sponsored foods?
